Our Programs
Our primary classroom consists of 35 children with one lead teacher and one aide. In order to be enrolled in this classroom, children need to be toilet-trained. Their ages range from 2 ½ years extending through their kindergarten year. In addition, children regularly participate in our outdoor environment with an additional teacher supervising. The student to teacher ratio is 12 to 1.
Our toddler classroom consists of 5 children with one lead teacher. They work in a separate classroom and work outside intermittently. The children in this program are generally not toilet-trained, but are working toward it with the assistance of the teacher. Their ages range from 15 months to 2 ½ years at which time they are integrated into the primary classroom. The student to teacher ratio is 5 to 1.
HALF-DAY PROGRAM
The primary and toddler classrooms have a half-day program from 8:30am to 1pm.
The work cycle is a three hour period from 9am to noon. The children eat lunch around 12:15pm each day; they bring their own lunches in a lunch bag with an icepack. On Fridays, pizza is available for an additional $10 per month.
FULL-DAY PROGRAM
The primary and toddler classrooms have a full-day program from 8:30am to 3pm. Children who need naps lie down from 1pm to 2:45pm. The children may bring a crib-sized sheet and small blanket, as well as a small pillow and/or stuffed animal.
After lunch, children who do not take naps, engage in some form of physical activity. This includes, but is not limited to, outdoor exercises, sports games, yoga, and occasional playground time. Additionally, once a week, a Polynesian dance instructor teaches the children a variety of dances.
After engaging their bodies, the children return to the classroom to a variety of activities. These consist of additional work time on classroom material, along with any cooking or craft projects geared toward the unit of study for the given month.
BEFORE-SCHOOL CARE & AFTER-SCHOOL CARE
The school is open from 7am to 6pm daily. Before-school care is offered from 7am to 8:30am. After-school care is offered from 3pm to 6pm. During this time, the children play on the playground (weather permitting), choose from an assortment of toys (legos, babies, puzzles, etc), draw, make crafts, and listen to stories. They also help in the daily rituals of the school (preparing the classroom for the day, feeding the animals, cleaning, etc).
